Thousands of teachers across Alberta stood up for a fair deal and better learning conditions for kids. Instead of negotiating, Danielle Smith’s government ordered them back to work—and then went even further, using the notwithstanding clause to take away their fundamental freedoms.
That’s not leadership; that’s an abuse of power.
When people stand up to her, she changes the rules. When courts or laws get in her way, she overrides them. Whether it’s teachers, nurses, or anyone who disagrees, Smith undermines the freedoms of everyday Albertans to get what she wants.
The right to speak up, to organize, and to stand together are the freedoms that protect us all. And if she’s willing to take those away from teachers today, what freedoms will she come for next?
Danielle Smith must be stopped before she does even more damage to Albertans.
