We work our entire lives and still can’t afford to retire.

We do all the right things to get ahead but groceries, housing, and other essentials fall further out of reach.

At every opportunity, big corporations hike the price of things we need, for profit.

And whenever there’s a bill to make life more affordable, Conservatives vote against it and push cuts to the programs and services we rely on instead.

  • Almost 1 in 5 families can’t reliably access the food they need. That’s like every fifth house on your street. Indigenous families are most impacted.
  • Fewer than 2 in 5 employees in Canada have a pension at work. No wonder so many are worried about retiring into poverty.
  • Only 2 in 5 people in Canada have access to Employment Insurance (El) when they need it. The odds aren’t in workers’ favour.
  • Rent is rising faster than it has in forty years. That’s longer than most millennials have been alive!
  • Governments are spending less on care now than they did fifteen years ago.
  • Nearly half of Canadians live pay cheque to pay cheque. Meanwhile the rich are getting richer, and corporations are posting record profits.
